Bye bye, Brown!

Harry Potter Star Emma Watson is transferring from Brown University to another university in the fall, the New York Times reported.

A spokesman for Watson, 21, denied reports that the actress was "bullied" out of the Ivy League school. Instead, the star has chosen to pursue a different course not offered at Brown.

In March, Watson wrote on her official website that she would be temporarily leaving her studies to promote the final installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

She wrote: "As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student and fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible. I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter… I will still be working towards my degree… it's just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought."

The actress' rep did not mention what university Watson would be transferring to this fall.

People have no idea what they're talking about. I obviously don't know Emma personally but she actually seems like a star who cares about more than the fact that she's famous. I honestly think she'll get her degree because she wants to. Plus, I know someone at Brown who has heard people yell "ten points to Gryffindor!" when she answers a question right in class. I can see how that'd be annoying after a while. So to people saying that they doubt bullying it does happen. She seems like the most down to earth famous person out there and I wish her the best of luck with whatever she does.

I like her and I wish her the best at whatever she does. I just hope she keeps her focus and doesn't become a star who feels a sense of entitlement due to her success. For me, that always ruins an otherwise good person.

oh, poor little me. Someone worth a hundred million dollars isn't going to get bullied - that's some PR plant to cover up whatever the real reason is.

In other words 'I'm a spoiled rich and famous kid that couldn't cut it at school'. Funny how so many others (Jody Foster to name one) didn't have an issue with working hard for that education.

I heard that she was the butt of nasty comments from classmates. One instance had her answering a teacher's question correctly in class. A classmate responded, "Three points for Gryffindor." I read someone telling her to toughen up. As if the a-hole behavior of others is her fault. She deserves to be in a nurturing learning environment, as we all do. If she can find a more mature student body elsewhere, that's great, and she is wise to make the move. It's a shame. Brown is a great school. Fie on the immature yahoos.

She shouldn't worry about finishing her degree. I know she will. She should just take her time, if that works for her.

She should transfer to USC in LA, definitely.

She's transferring to NYU. She was seen touring the campus with the admissions people about 4 months ago.

I think she should transfer to the west coast where there are a ton of celebraties or go to a school that is away from all the status.

I worked there, I know the culture . . .but what I don't understand is why she would be bullied?
