Double date, double the A-list power! Newlyweds Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were spotted enjoying a friendly date night with pal Sandra Bullock and her new boyfriend, Bryan Randall, on Saturday, Sept. 5, in Austin, Texas. The star couples were seen at Bullock’s Bess Bistro, which is known for its Southern grub.
“At first, I just saw Jennifer Aniston and then we looked again and saw all of them,” fellow diner Rhonda Scott, a luxury real estate agent in L.A., tells Us Weekly. “They were in the corner by themselves. It seemed like she must have set that up that way because it was a nice, private table. … It was very low-key, just two couples having a nice dinner.”
“Justin and Jen were really close with each other, and Sandra and Bryan were really close. It was a really happy vibe,” adds Scott, whose table was right next to the stars’. “They seemed to be having a lot of fun together.”
Jacob Diamond, who was there with his friend Scott, confirms that the couples were very affectionate. “Jen and Justin were very handsy; he had his arm around her a lot,” he tells Us. “Sandra and Bryan were very handsy as well. They were holding hands throughout dinner, above the table, and he kept caressing her back. … She seemed really happy with him.”
The Hollywood foursome dined on shrimp and grits, and short ribs, but did not order dessert. Aniston, 46, sipped on one of the restaurant’s specialty cocktails.
Before leaving, Bullock, 51, went into the kitchen to say goodbye and to thank the staff for their service over the years, Diamond tells Us. Sadly, Bess Bistro is set to close its doors for good on Sept. 20.
The group left the eatery around 9:30 p.m., with Theroux, 44, leading the way, gal pals Aniston and Bullock behind him with their arms around each other, and the “very good looking” Randall bringing up the rear.
“It was very sweet,” Scott tells Us. “Bryan seemed very relaxed with the group.”
Theroux has been in Austin filming his HBO show, The Leftovers.
Aniston, 46, and Bullock, 51, became fast friends after a dinner at mutual pal Gwyneth Paltrow’s house last year. They became such close buddies that the Gravity star was one of the select celebs invited to Aniston and Theroux’s exclusive hush-hush wedding at their Bel Air home on Aug. 5. As Us Weekly exclusively reported, Bullock brought her 49-year-old photographer boyfriend as her plus-one to the nuptials, which were also attended by Courteney Cox, Howard Stern, Ellen DeGeneres, Orlando Bloom, Jimmy Kimmel, and others.
The new couple started dating earlier this year after Randall photographed Bullock’s son Louis’ 5th birthday party.
“He really is one of the nicest guys ever,” a friend of Randall’s told Us. “He walks into a room and makes everyone feel at ease. He’s just a people person, really friendly, very gregarious.”
The photographer, who has a daughter of his own, has even spent time with the actress’ young son. The couple were spotted on Sunday, Sept. 6, with her little boy at Bullock’s other eatery, Walton’s Fancy & Staple, also located in Austin.
Bullock divorced Jesse James in 2010 after nearly five years of marriage following his massive cheating scandal. She has had an extremely low-key love life ever since.
