Hello, it’s me, Jimmy Fallon, to the rescue! The Tonight Show host saved the day for Kristen Smith and Mary Kate Romano, who got scammed ahead of Adele’s Radio City Music Hall concert on Tuesday, Nov. 17. According to Smith, 24, it’s a night they’ll never forget.

The Connecticut-based first grade teacher tells Us Weekly that her friend Romano’s father gave them Adele tickets last minute, and after rushing to make it to the concert in New York City, they learned their tickets weren’t real.

“We walked to the door to get in and the guy scanned the tickets and told us they were fake,” Smith recalls. “We were both so disappointed and sad that we made the trip into NYC and were so close, but wouldn’t actually get to see Adele.”

The two women ended up waiting for an hour outside of the concert with hopes of obtaining legitimate tickets. Eventually, Smith and Romano gave up and started to head back home.

“There were a line of cars that all had black-tinted windows and I made a comment about how I’m sure those are for someone famous,” Smith tells Us. “All of a sudden, a door opened next to us and out stepped Jimmy Fallon!”

After calling out his name, Smith tells Us that The Tonight Show host posed for a photo with them. While taking their selfie, the women told the funnyman about their fake tickets.

“He said something about how that’s too bad,” Smith recalls, adding that she told Fallon the trip turned out all right since he made their evening better. “We then turned around and a guy standing in the doorway — we’re not sure if he worked with Jimmy or if he worked for Radio City Music Hall — said, ‘I can make your night even better,’ and he pulled out an envelope and handed me two tickets to get into the show.”

“It was so unexpected,” she gushed to Us. “Without Jimmy Fallon leaving at that time, we never would have ended up getting in!”

For the record, Smith said that Adele was “unbelievable” and that “the whole night was an emotional roller coaster that was a dream come true.”
