He may be in Argentina, but Justin Bieber's week in Brazil is still haunting the global pop sensation.

The 19-year-old singer was charged Friday, Nov. 8 for vandalism after his highly-publicized graffiti session that took place three days before. Bieber's rep had no comment on the charge.

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, police received a complaint about the impressionable pop star and his friends spray painting the wall of the former Hotel Nacional in Rio de Janeiro. The "Boyfriend" singer, who was in town to perform, reportedly had left the property by the time authorities arrived. Later that day, Brazil's biggest news outlet posted photos on its website of Bieber, in artistic action. (In Brazil, defacing buildings is a crime that could lead to a fine and up to one year in jail.)

Local authorities then opened an investigation involving three days of testimony from the photographers who caught him spray painting, local officers and even Bieber's security personnel. Bieber, however, will avoid time behind bars: He will pay a fine — although that cost has yet to be determined.

This is not the "Bad Day" crooner's first run-in with local authorities over his penchant for spray-painting. While in Bogota last week, Bieber painted a wall lining one of the Colombian city's biggest streets, and was escorted into a police car by officers. Overall, the South American leg of Bieber's Believe tour has been rife with controversy.

The singer was spotted allegedly exiting a brothel in Rio de Janeiro last weekend — a report he vehemently denied on Twitter with his 46 million followers. Bieber also stormed off stage after being hit with a water bottle during a concert, and was also filmed sleeping in a now-viral YouTube video by a mysterious woman, later identified as Tatiana Neves Barbosa.

The "Recovery" singer is set to perform in Cordoba on Friday night. He will then hit up Buenos Aires on Nov. 9-10.
