Still not over Selena? Justin Bieber explained why he’s single in a new interview with Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
“I haven’t been in a relationship for a while now. I’m chilling and just hanging out. Just being by myself,” Bieber, 21, said. “I am a relationship type of guy, I love to be in love and I love cuddling and I love all of that kind of stuff but I got my heart broken and so I’m just going to let that heal up.”
He added: “I had a few beers guys, maybe I’m talking too openly?”
Bieber’s last high-profile relationship was with Selena Gomez, 23. The on-again, off-again couple finally called it quits for good in January 2013. (In January 2014, they were spotted riding segways together outside Bieber’s Calabasas, Calif., home.)
Bieber and the “Good for You” singer recently kept their distance from each other at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 30, even after she sat in the front row as he cried during his onstage performance. But rumors of a reconciliation tend to follow them. Some fans even think that the name “Selena” can be spotted in his latest “What Do You Mean?” music video.
“I think that might be fake,” Bieber told KIIS 106.5 Monday. “It wasn’t me that did that.”
Relationship woes aside, Bieber is instead concentrating more on his music — and reputation. The controversial star (whose record includes DUI, egging a neighbor’s home, and peeing in a mop bucket at an NYC nightclub) says he wants to stop “apologizing” for his actions.
“I kind of distanced myself from a lot of friends,” he said, “and I’m doing a lot of stuff by myself recently.”
