Dispatchers told Kanye West's doctor to keep any weapons away from the rapper during the incident at his trainer's home, according to newly released audio of the doctor's 911 call.
In the one-minutem 24-second clip, published by TMZ on Thursday, December 1, West’s physician, Dr. Michael Farzam, describes the “Famous” rapper’s condition. At the beginning of the call, Farzam identifies himself as one of West’s doctors and requests police backup in addition to paramedics.
Around the two-minute mark, someone says, "Sir, if you can just keep an eye on him … don't let him get any weapons or anything like that. If anything changes, if he does become physically combative between now and when the police and/or paramedics get there, call us back."
The Los Angeles Times reports that portions of the call were redacted to "prevent the disclosure of confidential health information."
According to TMZ, Farzam placed the call on Monday, November 21, while West was at trainer Harley Pasternak’s home. As previously reported, Yeezy was admitted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles on November 21, after he reportedly started behaving "erratically" while at Pasternak’s residence. The episode came shortly after West canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo Tour following a bizarre 15-minute rant slamming Hillary Clinton and pals Jay Z and Beyonce at a show in Sacramento.
West was released from the hospital on Wednesday, November 30, multiple sources confirmed to Us. His release comes after the "Famous" singer sought treatment for more than a week after being hospitalized for extreme exhaustion.
The hip-hop star’s wife, Kim Kardashian, has remained by his side throughout his health scare. "Kim wouldn't leave his side except to see the kids," an insider previously told Us, referring to the couple's children, North, 3, and Saint, 11 months. "She's been at the hospital all the time. Kim has been keeping a very close watch on him and not letting people disturb him. All kinds of people have called and sent flowers, but she's being very careful about not disturbing him and making sure he rests and recovers.”
