Kate Middleton and Prince Harry’s Girlfriend Cressida Bonas “Aren’t a Natural Fit,” But Duchess Is Supportive

Kate Middleton and Prince Harry's girlfriend Cressida Bonas "aren't a natural fit," a royal watcher observes in the new issue of Us Weekly

Future royal sisters-in-law? Kate Middleton and Cressida Bonas may not have a lot in common, but they both certainly know how to land a prince. Prince Harry's girlfriend of two years has quickly left her normal life behind and may very well be following in the Duchess of Cambridge's footsteps. But compared to the demure, more formal Middleton, Bonas' road to the royals has been quite different.

"Kate and Cressida aren't a natural fit, left to their own devices," Marcia Moody, author of Harry: A Biography, reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

Bonas, 25, first met Prince Harry, 29, at a music festival (with the help of his cousin and her best friend Princess Eugenie!), while Middleton, 32, met husband Prince William, 31, back when they were students at St. Andrews. Compared to Middleton's designer gowns and public functions, Bonas instead keeps it casual — with a variety of scrunchies! The University of Leeds graduate also is a bit more daring than Prince George's brunette mum. Her first moment in the public spotlight also came in 2009 when she played a cheerleader in the British television series Trinity. Middleton, meanwhile, kept it to a smaller stage by performing in My Fair Lady at age 11.

Nonetheless, the royal redhead is smitten with his "Cressy," and Middleton is just the person to go to for advice as the couple continues to get more serious. "Kate will be there for Cressida with any concerns regarding being in the public eye," Moody adds. In fact, Middleton showed her approval for the blonde stunner when she invited Bonas to Prince George's October christening. (She declined as to not draw attention.) A pal adds that Bonas also "really likes" Middleton's mother, Carole.
