Raise your glass for Katie Holmes!
Although the star has been spotted frequently in NYC over the past two weeks since her split from Tom Cruise, her dinner on Wednesday at the celeb-friendly eatery The Lion was her "first night out," she was overheard telling a pal, the New York Post's Page Six reports. Switching out of the chic mommy gear she's donned for outings with Suri, 6, Holmes wore tight leather pants, sexy heels and a cream blouse and matching blazer for the grown-ups night.
A source tells Us Weekly that the 33-year-old single mom arrived at 8pm — and didn't leave until midnight!
According to Page Six, one of her dinner companions was a CAA agent, and the pair plotted out her next post-divorce career moves. Despite the business discussions on hand, Holmes, sitting at a table on the balcony overlooking the Lion's main dining room, seemed "elated to be out and about," the paper says.
Thursday evening, however, it was back to mommy duty for the Romantics actress, who took Suri to a gymnastics class at Chelsea Piers (near her new apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood.)
One fellow parent at Chelsea Piers told Us Weekly: "She seems very happy and like a great mother."
Meanwhile, Suri will be reunited with dad Cruise, 50, "very soon," his attorney Bert Fields told RadarOnline Thursday. "I don't know exactly when that will be, and I couldn't tell you, but I do know it will be very soon . . . Tom loves his Suri very, very much, as he does his other two children [Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17]. Tom is a family man, and dedicated to his children. They are the center of his world."
