Truth looks better naked. In her new book, Strong Looks Better Naked, a candid Khloe Kardashian chronicles her fitness journey — punctuated with anecdotes about her personal life and her famous family — and including one off-putting moment with Kim Kardashian‘s ex-husband Kris Humphries.
In the tome, the reality star, 31, reflects back on her marriage to Lamar Odom. Though the two split in December 2013 (and remain legally married as Odom is currently hospitalized), Khloe recalls a time when their marriage was golden — to the extent that Humphries would enviously compare his and Kim’s relationship to theirs, and openly air his grievances.
“The thing is, every relationship is different, and when you start talking about your problems, other people tend to talk about theirs,” Khloe writes in one passage. “Before you know it, you are making all sorts of crazy comparisons, like the time one of Kim’s exes — my least favorite ever — started complaining about life at home.”
“‘Why don’t you cook for me?’ he told Kim. ‘Khloe cooks for Lamar all the time,'” she continues in her book. “This happened in front of me, and it really upset me. I told him, ‘That is so rude! How dare you compare our relationships? And why are you being so aggressive? The right thing to do is to ask Kim if she’d consider cooking for you from time to time.'”
Khloe’s distaste for Humphries, 30, has been well documented in the past. Of everyone in the Kardashian-Jenner family, she was the one who vehemently advised against the nuptials. Still, Kim and the NBA player tied the knot in August 2011, and their over-the-top wedding was taped for an E! special. The marriage ultimately lasted a scant 72 days, and their divorce was finalized in April 2013.
“He didn’t treat Kim with respect,” Khloe complains in her book. “He wasn’t kind, and, unfortunately, he didn’t get my point, which I guess is one of the many reasons he is an ex.”
Meanwhile, Humphries has also spoken out about his split from the reality megastar, who is now married and expecting her second child with Kanye West. “You can’t force a love life,” the athlete told reporters in June 2013. “I think you learn something all the time . . . I’m just focused on me and having a good time.”
