Wise words. Khloé Kardashian may have jumped headfirst into her hot romance with NBA star Tristan Thompson, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t have her own set of ground rules before she began dating someone new.
In a post titled “The Dating Advice I Would Give My Younger Self” on her website, the reality star, 32, offered some thoughtful tips on Thursday, September 22.
“With age comes wisdom!” wrote the Selfish author, who filed for divorce for a second time from Lamar Odom in May. “Some lessons you have to learn on your own and the ones that come with dating are no exception.”
Her first point: Don’t go out with someone you’re not excited about.
The youngest Kardashian sister explained that a friend of hers went out with a guy that she didn’t really like just to be nice. “You should never have to feel obligated to go out with someone,” she wrote.
Then she advised younger women that they should only do something they’re comfortable with.
“If you don’t want the guy to know where you live, offer to meet him at the restaurant,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star cautioned. “If you don’t want the pressure of going to dinner, then suggest another activity. It’s about only doing what’s within your personal comfort level and walking away from the date feeling like you had fun.”
Next, she told fans to “be secure with your decision.”
“Sometimes we just do things to do them. I think it takes away from the specialness of who we are,” she continued. "So if you decide not to go out with a guy, own your decision because another great one will be on his way in no time, boo!"
As Us Weekly previously reported, Kardashian and the Cleveland Cavaliers player, 25, were introduced by her BFF Malika Haqq in August.
They flew to Mexico for a romantic vacation in early September, where an eyewitness told Us they “were very flirty and laughing a lot.”
The pair then made their relationship Snapchat official when she shared a video that showed them passionately making out while on a date.
“She’s having a really good time,” momager Kris Jenner told Us on September 17. “He seems like a really nice guy.”
