Khloe Kardashian: Rob Kardashian “Fell Into a Deep, Dark Place and Couldn’t Find His Way Back”

Khloe Kardashian: Rob Kardashian "Fell Into a Deep, Dark Place"
In her new book, Khloe Kardashian recounts the time her brother Rob "fell into a deep, dark place and couldn't find his way back."

Real talk. Khloe Kardashian was completely candid when addressing her personal issues and transformation in her new book, Strong Looks Better Naked — and she didn’t hold back when talking about her siblings’ problems either.

In a chapter titled “Make the Best of Everything,” the 31-year-old reality star discussed her distaste for “whiners,” noting that nothing irks her more than people who complain without taking proactive steps to better their circumstances.

“Take my brother Rob,” she wrote. “I love and him and he knows I love him, but he fell into a deep, dark place and couldn’t find his way back.”

The youngest Kardashian sister explained that Rob, 28, would try to “fix things his way” by plunging “headfirst” into quick-fix solutions that weren’t sustainable.

Once, for instance, he tried to get back into shape too quickly and dropped his workout routine just three weeks into his vow to change his ways, she recalled.

“It was a waste of time,” Khloe wrote. “The truth is, he wanted too much too soon, and his unrealistic explanations totally short-circuited his efforts.”

Rob’s struggles with depression and Khloe’s defensive instincts toward him have been documented on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The reality personality has been vocal about her concerns with Rob in the past. In October, she told People magazine that she felt like he was “wasting his life.”

“Rob is such a great guy,” she told the magazine of her brother. “He’s charming, charismatic, everything. That’s what’s so infuriating. I’m like, ‘Where is your will to live life? Let’s be around people!’”

And in July, she said that she sometimes calls Rob, who lives with her, her “son” for laughs.

“I’m good with him. I never bother him,” she told Complex magazine at the time. “I just bought him a rug for his bedroom and he was so cute. He’ll text me and tell me how much he likes it and he notices things. So, I like it. I call him my son as a joke. … I do baby him but I’m a maternal person.”
