Kim Kardashian now has 5 million-plus Twitter followers!
The star, 29, reached the microblogging milestone Monday night -- and she wasn't at a hot celeb party or red carpet when it happened, either.

"Last night I was glued to my laptop when I saw I was close to getting my five millionth follower on Twitter," she blogged.
"I couldn't believe it when it happened! Its such a mind blowing feeling to know so many of you are out there reading my tweets," she gushed.

The single lady has another reason to celebrate as well. She and big sister Kourtney, 30, just nabbed another reality spinoff: Kourtney and Kim Take New York, set in the Big Apple, debuts January 2011.

Thanking her fans, she added, "Twitter is amazing!! It keeps me connected to you guys even when I'm on the go. It's like you are all right there with me. I love that I can ask your advice or your opinion on something and can read your responses straight away... it's just fab!"

This is news because nobody can believe how stupid our society has become. I betcha the majority of those "followers" -- sounds like the Moonies cult -- but I betcha the majority of those followers are age 18-35 women. The 30+ aged women who follow her are the most pathetic. They really tell you why moms need to stay home and raise their own children because this age group really missed out on positive female role models.

No, I'm not one of her followers, but I have looked at her acct., her tweets are kinda boring. Following her only makes her head bigger....And I didn't think it could get any bigger. Humble pie baby, Humble pie!

I'm not among her followers. But I don't "follow" any celebrities on twitter. I like Kim, she seems nice. But I have a problem with "following" a person who doesn't even know I exist.
