Money is power!
The results of Forbes magazine's Celebrity 100 Power List were announced Wednesday, with Lady Gaga debuting as the World's Most Powerful Celebrity. The pop queen beats out Oprah, who has held the golden title for over four years and has fallen to No. 2 for 2011.
"Lady Gaga tops our power list not just because of her $90 million in earnings, but also because of her 32 million Facebook fans and 10 million Twitter followers," Forbes said in a release. "[Those fans] helped move 1 million copies of her hit single, "Born This Way," in just five days."
This is also the first year that pop prince Justin Bieber is on the list. Having pulled in $53 million over the past 12 months through concerts and his 3-D documentary movie ticket sales, the 17-year-old multi-platinum artist locked in the No. 3 spot (and is also the youngest).
Other stars making their powerful debut include Katy Perry (No. 12), Bethenny Frankel (No. 47), Mark Wahlberg (No. 74), and Natalie Portman (No. 75). Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and Britney Spears were among the notable names who didn't make their return for 2011.
But compared to last year's list, Forbes claims "the earnings power of The Celebrity 100 dropped slightly in 2011, with this year's stars having earned a collective $4.5 billion during the past year, down from $4.7 billion in 2010."
