Trying to help Lammy. Lamar Odom’s family staged an intervention in New York City on Friday, July 22, in response to the former NBA star’s recent troubling behavior, a source tells Us Weekly.

“Lamar was doing really bad and his family was going to stage an intervention on Friday,” the insider tells Us.

The source confirms that the mediation took place on Friday night with several of Odom’s close family members, including his ex-wife Liza Morales, aunt JaNean Mercer, his children and several of his cousins.

According to Extra, the retired Los Angeles Lakers star “was extremely surprised” by the intervention and “left the location.”

As Us Weekly previously reported, Odom, 36, was kicked off a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to NYC earlier this month after he reportedly got drunk at the airport and vomited on the plane. A source told Us at the time that the athlete stopped at a bar in Santa Monica prior to heading to LAX, where he “got really angry and started getting drunk.”

“It’s really sad,” the insider told Us on July 12. “He was doing so well in his [rehab] programs.”

Shortly after the plane incident, Odom’s estranged wife Khloé Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, said during an interview that she was surprised by the news.

“I don’t know what happened. It was a big surprise to me,” the 60-year-old momager said on Australia’s Kylie and Jackie O on July 15. “All I can say is I just want the very best for him because he’s like my son. He’s a part of my family and I adore him. He’s the best. … He’s the greatest guy in the world and anybody that knows him will tell you the same thing.”

The 6-foot-10 star, who recently filed his response to Kardashian’s second divorce filing, has since been spotted at numerous NYC strip clubs.

Odom was hospitalized in October 2015 after a near-fatal overdose at a brothel in Nevada. In the following months, Khloé helped him recover and even briefly leased a rental home for him in Calabasas, California.
