Lena Dunham Hugs Boyfriend Jack Antonoff After Fun. Wins Song of the Year at Grammy Awards 2013
Power couple! After Lena Dunham won Best Actress in a TV comedy for the hit HBO series, Girls, at the 2013 Golden Globes, her boyfriend Jack Antonoff and his band Fun. won Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Dunham, 26, attended the show at L.A.'s Staples Center alongside her man wearing a bright yellow dress. As Antonoff, 28, walked to the stage to accept his award, a very proud (and surprised!) Dunham gave him a big hug, and gave his band members Nate Ruess and Andrew Dost hugs too.
"I don't what I was thinking writing the words for this song," Ruess told the audience. "This is in HD. Everyone can see our faces and we are not very young."
But Ruess then thanked their fans for supporting then, and Antonoff added,
"And to our families -- we have been touring for 12 years and we haven't made money for a long time -- they've let us live at home for a long time."
In a long list of family members to thank, Antonoff concluded his speech by thanking "Lena."
The couple went public with their relationship in September 2012, and since the Girls creator has been open about her love for the Fun. guitarist. "I know there's some rule that you're not supposed to talk about your boyfriend publicly just because it seems like all starlets under the age of 33 have decided not to do that, but if you're in love with someone great, then I don't understand why you wouldn't tell everybody," Dunham told Interview magazine last month.
And while both Dunham and Antonoff have very busy work schedules, Dunham says "Jack is the first person that it hasn't been an issue with."
"Jack works so much -- I always say that he makes my job look like I work part-time in the gift shop at an old-age home," she joked. "He's just constantly doing it, and it gets me invigorated about what I'm doing and reminds me of what's important."
