Lindsay Lohan is a free woman - for now.

She left Los Angeles County's Century Regional Detention Center at about 11:40 p.m. Friday after posting $300,000 bail.

On Friday morning, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox ordered the 24-year-old actress -- who recently admitted failing at least one court-ordered drug test in her three-year DUI case -- to stay behind bars until an Oct. 22 probation hearing.

But her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, filed an appeal Friday, arguing that Lohan was unlawfully denied bail since she had been convicted of misdemeanors. Holley told UsMagazine.com, "I think case law is clear that she is entitled to bail."

Judge Patricia Schnegg, assistant supervising judge for L.A.'s criminal courts, scrapped Judge Fox's bail decision, agreeing that Lohan was entitled to bail.

Lohan will have to wear a SCRAM bracelet -- her third this year -- within 24 hours. Under the terms of her bail, she also must stay away from places that primarily sell alcohol.

    And, the nightmare continues!!!

THIS is PATHETIC!! What is wrong with the legal system? Obviously, they only want her bail money. Isn't California in debt big time??

in my opinion if you do the crime you should do the time..and not be in jail for only 15 hours

All I can say is this is absolute BULLSH%T!

It just may be right that our collective hero was dealt a harsh hand, or the slight of a judge who was presumably too eager to deal with Lilo in a way that suggests “party favors and 8 inch Louboutins aside’ the court always knows best. http://scallywagandvagabond.cm/2010/09/lilo-gets-a-get-out-of-jail-free-card/

Well, Stefanie: At least she will know who her true friends are. The ones who ARE willing to hang at home are a little more worthy than those who will dump her for not being able to go out and party (and buy them their drugs, I am sure). Hopefully this will help be a part of her awakening.

Her media attention will be converted into a lifetime of wealth, it will result in Lindsey being rewarded millions for each day served. It had to be planned, no cop would arrest a celebrity for a DUI or simple drug possession. In the real world money talks and dead beats get arrested.

Kudods to Judge Fox for standing by his promise to her that if she flunked a drug test, he'd throw her in jail for 30 days. At least he kept his word. Unfortunately the second judge overturned that decision yesterday. How disgusting is it that this waste of a human is allowed to sleep in her own comfy bed each and every night when she should be on a cot in jail. She'll have 'friends' visiting her at home for a few days but I don't believe that will last long..they'll want to go out and party-they won't want to sit in with her each and every night and watch TV because she can't go to clubs. And who knows...perhaps she'll OD by the time she's due in court again and it'll save everyone time and money in the long run.

She should consider herself lucky she's not in a country like Turkey...where you'd actually have to SERVE prison time.

I am so angry and disappointed in our legal system. I hope this blows up in the face of that judge and Los Angeles. What a waste of my money and the public's time.

UNBELIEVABLE thats all i can say!

  • September 25, 2010 - 12:48pm Heather Cunningham

She will never learn her lesson because people keep trying to save someone who doesn't clear want to be saved. When she is ready is when she will learn !!

  • September 25, 2010 - 12:38pm Valerie Harris

She's a waste of time and space. They should give her a room filled with Coke and let her literally "Blow" her brains out. She's worthless and will never amount to anything in life.

Its a shame she is doing this to herself, that she cant stay out of Trouble with the Law! And that she cant her Life Together!

Yeah, I am sure a SCRAM bracelet will really help just like last time.. I bet she is out clubbing tonight. If this were one of us "regular" people, we would be behind bars no questions asked.. She is absolutely pathetic. If they were going to give her bail, it should have been on the condition that she went straight to a REAL rehab, not some posh spa like one.. She deserves whatever happens to her from now on and I am sure she will go the way of Anna Nicole Smith..

@beentheredonethat, You are correct she is surrounded by enablers. Her Mother is doing the most damage, she was on TV reprimanding the last judge. I am sure her agents are no less guilty. Her father may not be perfect but he makes sense, hopefully he can take the the reigns like Brittny Spears Dad. This kid needs direction; AND SHE IS YOUNG... problem is she looks over forty and so drug hardened, so people forget. I forgot how young she is until I heard a reporter last night say how old she looks for her age of 24. Very sad.

This is a joke and an insult to regular humans. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Charlie Sheen - all TRASH. Man up like Robert Downey, Jr and stop abusing the system. I have no respect for celebutards who get special treatment and I won't watch anything they participate in.

    Nothing learned, nothing gained.

I FEEL this girl is laughing AT US ALL while WE watch as she's getting her way IN & OUT of trouble, I dont feel sorry for you ANYMORE. ALL YOUR FANS SHOULD WAKE UP TOO!

  • September 25, 2010 - 8:58am Phyllis Newman

She is a complete train wreck. It's almost like she thinks it's cool to go the Anna Nicole Smith/River Phoenix route. It's just a matter of time until we'll be reading about her being discovered dead in some hotel room somewhere. She obviously doesn't want help and won't accept it from anyone. What a waste.
