It’s no secret that the Kardashian clan is massive, and in the wake of Lamar Odom’s recent hospitalization, almost every single one of the reality stars has visited the athlete in the hospital, with his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, not leaving his side. But not everyone views this as an act of goodwill from the famous family.
Metta World Peace (formerly Ron Artest), one of Odom’s former L.A. Lakers teammates who introduced Kardashian and Odom back in 2009, spoke to the Los Angeles Daily News about the crowded scene at the Las Vegas hospital that’s currently housing Odom.
“The only Kardashian that needs to be there is Khloe,” he told the site. “Not every Kardashian needs to be around. They need to keep it simple, so Lamar’s children can see him whenever they want to see him. They’re waiting in line to see their own father.”
Odom is dad to daughter Destiny, 17, and Lamar Jr., 13, with his ex Liza Morales. Khloe flew his kids and family to be by Odom’s side during this tough time.
“This is nothing against Khloe,” Metta World Peace, 35, said. “This is for the celebrities that are coming to see Lamar. They should know they’re taking away from Lamar’s children.” (Other visitors over the last week include Kobe Bryant, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner.)
As previously reported, the former NBA star was discovered unconscious last week in a Nevada brothel. He woke up after three days and has shown gradual improvement in his condition every day since.
“He’s getting better little by little,” a source recently told Us Weekly. “He’s slowly saying more words.”
