Miley Cyrus Quits Twitter for Boyfriend

Miley Cyrus has posted her last Tweet.
The singer, 16, has deleted her Twitter page after posting a message that her boyfriend, Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth, disapproves of the micro-blogging site.

"FYI Liam doesn't have a Twitter and he wants me to delete mine with good reason," she Twittered in one of her final posts.

The Hannah Montana star -- who has used Twitter to support gay marriage, to plan get-togethers with Spencer and Heidi Pratt and to complain about sore throats -- isn't the only member of the family to quit the social networking trend.
Her mom, Tish, has also quit Twitter. (Cyrus' sister Brandi and brother Trace are still Twittering, however.)

Fans -- she had more than 1.1 million followers -- aren't happy with her decision and have already begun pleading for her to return. In fact, "#mileycomeback" is the top trending topic on Twitter.

27I love Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. If deleting their twitters makes them happy then go ahead. What ever makes them happy. If they want to delete them, then why not? Whatever keeps them happy and content is all that matters.

If the boyfriend made good points in the course of conversation that made Miley realize Tweeting wasn't working out for her, then that's grand. But posting "my boyfriend says so" just makes you look like a doormat and a fool. Nice role-modeling, Miley.

I think that twitter fosters an almost obsessive fan following and to me that is not healthy. Also she needs to learn to have more of a private life and not share as much as she does in the media. It sounds like her boyfriend may be a bit more grounded and is giving her some good advice.

I can understand how it feels. I quite facebook for my man. It's cool when your single, but when you have someone you want to be as faithful and honest to them as possible and I think Twitter, Facebook, MySpace are all asking for trouble.
