Thomas Roberts and Patrick Abner

ThomPat are officially married!

MSNBC's Thomas Roberts and his longtime love Patrick Abner exchanged vows over the weekend in NYC, making Roberts the first cable news anchor to marry someone of the same sex, according to the Huffington Post.

California's Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom officiated the ceremony, which took place at the Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel Saturday. Guests included Sam Champion, Aviva Drescher, Meghan McCain, Judith Light, Wilson Cruz, Don Lemon, Carson Kressley and Nate Berkus.

On Sunday morning, Roberts took to Twitter to dish about married life so far.

"Morning in NYC is pretty sweet waking up as a married man!" he wrote, showing off a photo of his ring. (The ecstatic journalist also debuted his and Abner's super-couple moniker in response to a congratulatory tweet: "ThomPat!")

Back in 2006, Roberts made television history when he became the first national TV anchor to come out, while he was working for CNN.
