Despite rumors to the contrary, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are in paradise — literally. On Thursday, Feb. 28, the How I Met Your Mother actor slammed a recent National Enquirer article claiming the two had ended their engagement.
"The Nat. Enq. is cray cray. We've never had a wedding date, just engaged (Prop 8 and all)," Harris tweeted. "We're on a cruise as I write. He's rad. All good."
The couple announced their engagement in June 2011. "David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago!" Harris tweeted shortly after gay marriage was legalized in New York. "We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date."
Together since 2004, Harris, 39, and chef Burtka, 37, welcomed fraternal twins, Harper and Gideon, via surrogate in October 2010. During a May 2012 interview on Oprah's Next Chapter, the future spouses expressed a desire to have more children. "I want a ton of kids," Burtka said. "I was told you're not really a family until your kids outnumber you."
"In all of our copious free time, we'll have more children," Harris joked.
