The British royal, 32, left Guyana — the last of seven Caribbean nations he visited — midday on Sunday, December 4, and was supposed to be heading back to the U.K. However, he changed his plans to squeeze in some quality time with the 35-year-old actress, the insider explained. Now that Harry has concluded his official tour on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II and Markle has wrapped season 6 of Suits, the pair will likely be able to spend some more time together. As Us Weekly previously reported, Harry and his new girlfriend have been planning a romantic getaway

“It will be a one-week trip,” a source told Us of the private vacation. “There are just a few details left to finalize.”

In an interview with the Vancouver Sun, the World Vision ambassador — who originally hails from Los Angeles — said that she’s looking forward to spending the holidays with loved ones. “December is holiday time and I’m really looking forward to seeing my family and traveling. … So, in January, I’m going to India for two weeks setting up a girls’ program that I’m really excited about and have been working on for the past six months,” she said of her time off until her USA legal drama starts filming again in March.

As previously reported, Harry confirmed his relationship with Markle in a statement last month and defended her against harassment she’s faced since news broke of their romance. “The past week has seen a line crossed,” Kensington Palace said in a statement the prince asked to be issued. “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. … Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.”
