Tinkled pink! Princess Eugenie — like the rest of the world — is elated that her cousin Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their second child. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's youngest daughter gushed about the royal baby news exclusively to Us Weekly at the Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners Host Annual Charity Day event in NYC on Thursday, Sept. 11.
"[I'm] very excited!" the 24-year-old told Us. "Love new members of the family!"
Kensington Palace announced in a statement to Us on Sept. 8 that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's son Prince George would soon be getting a sibling. An insider added that the couple told their families last weekend.
Grandpa Prince Charles and Uncle Harry have teased that they are hoping for a baby girl, but Prince Eugenie — a resident of the Big Apple since October 2013 — is betting that Prince George will be like her "great sister" Princess Beatrice no matter the sex. (As previously reported, Eugenie works at an online auction house and enjoys walking to work every day.)
"Bee and I have been brought up with parents that just teach us the best lessons and we can learn from that," she told Us. "We kind of support each other."
Princess Eugenie also discussed her charity, the RNRH National Orthopedic hospital, that supports children in crisis. "We really believe in giving back and the American people has given us so much life here," her mom, Duchess of York, told Us. "It's pretty lovely to be here today."
