A family affair! All eyes were on Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey on Friday, December 2, when the Sing costars brought their kids — and their spouses — to the L.A. premiere of the animated movie.
Witherspoon, 40, was joined by her look-alike daughter, Ava, 17, sons Deacon, 13, and Tennessee, 4, and husband Jim Toth during the special night out. She and mini-me Ava coordinated in black minidresses while the boys wore ties. (Witherspoon shares Ava and Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe; she and CAA agent Toth wed in 2011 and share little Tennessee.)
The Legally Blonde actress plays Rosita in the comedy, a mom pig who auditions for the world’s greatest singing competition. “I think that there’s something beautiful about the idea that your mom is a person too,” Witherspoon told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet. “Beyond being just a mom, [she] has her own dreams and desires.”
Witherspoon, who sang for her Oscar-winning portrayal as June Carter Cash in 2005’s Walk the Line, belts out Taylor Swift and Katy Perry tunes in Sing. (Witherspoon and Swift have both dated Jake Gyllenhaal in the past.)
“I actually ran into both of them as I was doing each song,” Witherspoon told ET. “[Swift] was like, ‘Yeah, you know, I make [‘Shake It Off’] look easy but it’s really hard.”
McConaughey, 47, was supported by his loved ones on Friday night too. He took his seat inside the Microsoft Theatre with his wife, Camila Alves, and their children: sons Levi, 8, and Livingston, 3, and daughter Vida, 6. All three kids rocked suits and bow ties.
The Interstellar actor revealed that the gang will travel to New York before visiting Alves’ family in Brazil for the holidays.
“We’re still catching our breath after that [last one],” the native Texan told ET, joking about Thanksgiving. “We had 31 McConaugheys at the house, and the house sleeps 12. So we had air mattresses and nine kids in one queen-size bed and it was basically, ‘Sleep where you can find a pillow.'”
