Sharon Osbourne Once Locked Kelly Osbourne in a Padded Room to Help With Addiction
There's nothing quite like a mother's (tough) love! Kelly Osbourne opens up in the September issue of British Cosmopolitan about her past issues with drug addiction and the many methods she tried to combat them over the years -- including a particularly extreme one that mom Sharon Osbourne tried on her.
"I've been to rehab seven times and to two mental institutions," the E! Fashion Police host explains. "My mum even had me put in a padded cell once to scare me, but like a brat I just sat it out until she said, 'Well, that's not going to work.'"
"But what I've learnt is that no amount of therapy or medication is going to work unless you want it to," she continues. "Until you want to be a good person, you will never be one."
Osbourne, 28, has been open about her substance abuse issues in the past, but, she says, she previously tried to keep her drug habits under wraps because she didn't want to share her stash.

"I would never even tell anyone I had drugs because I wanted them all to myself," she tells the magazine. "I was quite selfish. What changed for me was looking around and seeing that nobody liked me or wanted to work with me."
Another big positive influence in her life has been fiance Matthew Mosshart, a vegan baker who the TV personality says has changed the way that she views both herself and her capacity to love.
"I'm so lucky to have someone as special as Matthew," she says. "I tend not to talk about relationships, because everything else is so out there and the only thing that is mine is my fiance. The only thing I'll say is that you will never learn what love is on any level until you let someone love you the way you deserve to be loved."
The pair, who got engaged in Anguilla on Jan. 1, are in no rush to walk down the aisle, however.
"I want to have kids -- a boy and a girl," she muses. "I'd like to live in England when I do, as I will not have a baby call me 'Mom.' I will kill myself before being called that. I'm in no rush though -- I'm happy watching my brother do it first."
Jack Osbourne, 27, announced that he is expecting baby No.2 with wife Lisa on Tuesday, Aug. 6. The couple are already parents to daughter Pearl, 15 months.
