Most Dancing With the Stars contenders lose weight on the ABC hit, but not Sherri Shepherd.
"I want to eat some ribs and some cornbread! No diet," The View co-host, 44, told Us Weekly post-show Monday. "I'm so hungry I could eat Val [Chmerkovskiy]! He's looking like pork chops to me! I'm starving! You work it all off. I'm hungry all the time now!"
Though she hasn't shed any pounds, the newlywed said Chmerkovskiy "has me doing movements with my hips back and forth, and I feel like I'm toning up. I can run around the apartment with my son now without feeling so out of breath!"
In fact, it was Shepherd's son Jeffrey, 6, who first inspired her to compete on Dancing With the Stars. "It was to show him to take risks, to do something that scares you. We were watching him dance [in the audience] and I was so excited!"
"I was nervous because it's a high-paced, high-energy [routine], and when you throw the crowd in there, it's really hard to focus," Chmerkovskiy, 26, told Us. "But in terms of the little mishap, I think she handled it well. I think that's a lot more important in terms of her development rather than getting the exact step."
Will Shepherd and Chmerkovskiy be the first dancing duo sent home? Tune in for Dancing With the Stars' results show Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
