The Voice Top 6 Revealed: Which Two Artists Went Home and Who Was Saved?

The Voice
The Voice Season 8 Top 8 Artists

Phew! After what host Carson Daly described as the “closest vote ever,” one artist narrowly missed elimination from The Voice and this season’s top six artists were revealed.

Team Christina Aguilera’s India Carney and Kimberly Nichole joined Jason Derulo in opening the show with an energetic performance of his latest single “Want To Want Me,” before Daly revealed Joshua Davis as the first artist to move on to the top six. After landing in the bottom three last week, Davis secured coach Adam Levine’s only remaining spot in the competition for one more week.

Team Pharrell Williams’ Sawyer Fredericks, this season’s youngest artist, and Team Blake Shelton’s Meghan Linsey followed Davis into the top six after Rozzi Crane took the stage with her single, “Psycho.”

Following a final guest performance from recent ACM winner Lee Brice (featuring Team Blake’s Corey Kent White) of his hit “Drinking Class,” Daly revealed Nichole and Team Pharrell’s Koryn Hawthorne were the last to be voted into the top six.

This left Carney, Kent White and Team Blake’s Hannah Kirby as this week’s bottom three artists, all of whom performed for the instant Twitter Save.

Kirby was the first to take the stage with Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive.” Next, Kent White sang American Idol judge Keith Urban’s hit “Somebody Like You.” Finally, Carney reached for the save with “Human” by Christina Perri.

Ultimately, Hannah Kirby and Corey Kent White’s final performances weren’t enough to save them from Tuesday’s elimination and were sent home, bringing Shelton’s roster from three to one. India Carney moved forward, taking the final spot in this season’s top six.

Although she is heading home, Kirby told Us Weekly she is grateful for her time on The Voice. “This experience has taught me that I’m a stronger person than I thought I was, and for the rest of my life I’m going to know that I can handle anything because I was able to be here and handle this,” she dished after her performance Monday night.

Similarly, Kent White has no regrets about his performance on Monday. “Tonight was the first night for me where I stepped up on stage and just did what I love because I love to do it instead of just trying to make it to the next round,” he told Us on Monday night. “The biggest thing that I’ve learned is to never lose sight of why you started in the first place.”

Shelton remained proud of his team’s accomplishments. “We’re all better singers in the shower or in our bedroom or when we’re just sitting by ourselves when there’s no judgment by anybody,” Shelton explained to Us after Monday’s performance show. “These three went from very little, as far as eyeballs, to the biggest show on television, and so I want them to have conquered that beast going now forward whenever they do get their chance to be on the Grammys or the American Music Awards.”
