Another diva dis!
After getting into some hot water last week for their comments about Voice coach Christina Aguilera, The Wanted are targeting her biggest rival and fellow former Mouseketeer: Britney Spears.
During a Monday interview with New York radio station Fresh 102.7, the group--who opened for Spears, 30, during part of her recent tour--claimed the singer's security wouldn't allow them to look at her as she passed by.
The band's Siva Kaneswaran says he was seated in a hallway with their tour manager, working on a laptop, when Spears' security demanded they avert their eyes before Britney passed by.
"We faced the wall for about 10 seconds until she got really far away," Kaneswaran, 23, revealed, adding her security guards weren't "messing" with them as the radio show's host suggested.
Still, unlike Aguilera, whom they dubbed a "total bitch," The Wanted's Jay McGuinness said Spears was lovely once they actually got the chance to chat with her.
"When we . . . met her person to person she was so down-to-earth," McGuinness, 21, shared.
Though there's no actual beef between the Wanted and Spears herself, the "I Wanna Go" singer's camp isn't too pleased.
"What's even more interesting than the false allegations they made up is the fact that they have claimed to be picked on by two female pop stars in just a few days," Spears' rep said in a statement. "Look out Lady Gaga--there are still three days left this week."
