The future is looking brighter for Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. After a rough few months — during which the NFL pro was embroiled in a scandal involving the New England Patriots' decision to deflate footballs during a January playoff game — the spouses of six years appear to be getting back on track.
On Monday, Sept. 7, the quarterback, 38, and the supermodel, 35, were spotted hand in hand as they left a movie theater near their Boston-area home. Both wore light-colored jeans, with Bundchen in a blousy beige top and Brady in a dark, fitted button-down.
The public display of affection came just hours before the football player spoke out about his marriage in an interview with Boston radio station WEEI-FM. "We're in a great place," he told Dennis & Callahan on Tuesday, Sept. 8. "I'll just say that."
He went on to acknowledge Bundchen's support during the recent Deflategate drama. After a report concluded that Brady was "at least generally aware" of the Patriots' deflated balls, he was hit with a four-game suspension — which a judge only recently overturned.
"I'm a lucky man. I've been very blessed with support from my family and certainly her," the athlete — who has two kids with his wife — told WEEI. "There's no bigger supporter that I have than her, and vice versa. I've been very blessed to have an incredible relationship with my life partner. I don't think anything would ever get in the way of that."
That may be true, but sources told Us Weekly the two have had a difficult year. One insider said they were going through a "rough patch" this summer, while another noted in August, "Things are very tense right now."
