Here comes a family feud. Lee "Uncle Poodle" Thompson slammed "Mama June" Shannon as a liar while speaking recently to Dr. Phil in a new interview. In a preview released Monday, Nov. 17, Uncle Poodle shares shocking new details refuting Mama June's claims that she did not see convicted child molester Mark McDaniel, even after the two were photographed together.
"The truth on the whole thing is June is lying," Poodle told Dr. Phil. "She tells everyone that [she and Mark] haven’t seen each other and that the photos are photoshopped. It’s a big lie."
Poodle recalled to Dr. Phil his first-ever encounter with McDaniel. "[June] came to me to go look at houses. It was on September 9," said Poodle, the brother of Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson. "I drove her up and she said she wanted to meet a friend. I took her to meet Mark. I did not know who Mark was in the beginning. I think it was the first time she had seen him since he got out of prison."
As previously reported, McDaniel was incarcerated after he molested an unidentified child in 2003. Later, a graphic and disturbing 2003 police report obtained by Us Weekly revealed that McDaniel was arrested after he allegedly molested Mama June's daughter Anna Cardwell when she was 8 years old, while younger half-sibling Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, then 3, was present.
Uncle Poodle said Pumpkin was also present during that initial visit — along with Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. "When we got there, we all got out," he said. "Pumpkin was with us with Alana. We were talking, having a good time. Well, Alana, Mark, and June disappeared for a few minutes."
During the interview, Dr. Phil also asked Poodle: "Am I understanding you have said that you, with your own eyes, have seen Alana curled up in bed with Mark McDaniel?"
Dr. Phil's interview with McDaniel follows his sit-down with Mama June on Nov. 17, where she blatantly denied rekindling her relationship with McDaniel. Mama June has also previously claimed that images of her with the ex-convict were Photoshopped. "I think people want you to be completely honest about the mistakes you have made and say, 'Wow. She gets it,'" Dr. Phil said to the largely silent former TLC star.
Poodle, though, said her denials remain unsubstantiated. "The last weekend we were together they were all lovey-dovey in the back seat," he said of June and McDaniel, who were allegedly "holding hands and kissing each other."
