Modern Family's Ariel Winter, 13, Debuts Mature Look at Emmys

She plays the brainiac younger daughter, Alex Dunphy on Modern Family, but at Sunday's Emmy Awards, Ariel Winter debuted a jaw-dropping sexy look.

The 13-year-old actress stunned fans when she arrived in a pink floral lace halter-neck gown with a cleavage-baring design.
However, despite her very grown-up appearance, Winter insists she was going for an age-appropriate look.
"I thought it was very youthful, yet mature because it has the flowers and it's blush pink," she told Us Weekly. "I have a sort of body in a way that you can't really put a dress like this without it looking older and more mature, so it's kind of not my fault!"

The teen also revealed that the dress was four sizes too big, but she knew immediately that it was going to be the perfect dress.
"The color is amazing. Now it fits me very well and I feel really good in it and I think that was the biggest thing for me," she told Us. "I know when I feel great in something that it is going to look great."

I agree with everyone else. Girl and dress both beautiful but cleavage is a no-go for a 13 year old. They could have used some of the fabric from the extra 4 sizes they had to cut down to fill in the keyhole and it would've been perfect, and practically the same dress, sans cleavage.
While I don't think the dress is appropriate, I don't think it is any worse than what other girls her age are wearing. I was at my nephew's 8th grade commencement ceremony and was shocked at the cleavage baring, short hemlines, and 4+inch platform shoes the majority of the girls were wearing.
This look is too mature for sure. At 13 she shouldn't be showing cleavage. Yet, I do understand where she's coming from body wise because I too looked busty and mature at that age. Indeed, her mother should have veto'd that dress!

No way should a 13 year old wear this dress. Her older sister on the show Sarah Highland who is actually 21 years old wore a beautiful dress that would have been age appropriate for Ariel as well. Big sister knew best.

Maybe a good clue as to the age-appropriateness of a dress would be if the wearer is still sporting braces, then her chest should be covered.

if she were 18, this would be fabulous. Yes, she does have a curvy body, but someone should have helped her find a dress without cleavage. That dress is way to old for a 13 year old.

Why does Hollywood let girls look so grown up when they're still so young? Then they're shocked at how they're drinking and doing drugs and getting pregnant before they're out of high school. Ariel is a beautiful young woman, but her parents should be restricting her choices and parenting rather than flaunting her assets, if you know what I mean. I hope she is one of the lucky ones that turns out ok after living her childhood in Hollywood.
