What inspired newly single Jennifer Love Hewitt to chop off her hair?
"I needed to feel lighter!" she told UsMagazine.com Tuesday at an Esprit flagship store opening in NYC. "We just finished season five of [Ghost Whisperer], and I was just ready for a change."

The 5-foot-3 Hewitt, 31, who recently shed an estimated 15-plus pounds, told Us, "I try to work out three or four times a week and eat healthy and that's about it."
Despite the workout routine, she told Us she can't "get rid of" her curves, but "I'm trying!"

On Tuesday, she released her new romance book The Day I Shot Cupid, which makes her "super excited," she told Us. "It's a book about love, dating, relationships and men and women and where we are."
She said writing the book even helped her deal with her recent split from Kennedy, 39.

"I learned a lot from the book," she said, adding that she and Kennedy are "good. We're fine and still friends."

I really love Jennifer in "Ghost Whisperer". If she's a true romantic like her "character" Melinda, I'm hopeful that she will find her "Jim" in real life.

WHy I totally don't care why you chopped your hair off. Her haircut is NOTHING to brag about and on top of that I was thru with this loser when she lied about being a size 2.

I've liked Jennifer since Party of Five; re: the hair, lots of women make changes, take a trip, etc. after a breakup and it doesn't necessarily mean they want attention - sheesh. As for her curves, girlfriend embrace them; like someone posted here, sometimes it's in the genes.

Don't know which is more unbecoming, that hair cut or her insecurity. Maybe it's time she realized that either she has a terrible inablity to chose men or the problem might really be her.
