Manhattan mojo: The Grammy-winning Long Island native, who calls her look "classy, sassy, sexy, not trashy," says she derives her head-turning style philosophy from the Big Apple: "Being a New York girl is about standing out in the crowd. Your look has to possess your swag, but you can't ever look like you're trying too hard."
Secret style weapon: "I wear those little elastic belts that cost like $100 when I want to blouse out a shirt, but don't want to show that I have on a belt. It creates an illusion that the shirt gathers so your waist looks super duper tiny," says the songstress, whose new ballad "Never Too Far Away" is the title song for Daniel Craig's latest film, Dreamhouse (out September 30).
A-list admiration: "Style-wise I've always loved Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez," says the fan of Alice + Olivia, Tibi, Mark Bass, Alexander Wang and Sass and Bide. "Their looks are classic yet they make it look effortless."
QUOTE: "Being on stage, I used to feel more comfortable with jeans, boots and a top. But now it's nice to show the legs a little bit. Especially if I'm going to the gym, I might as well show it!"
