Last weekend Olivia Wilde made news when she strolled arm-in-arm with new beau Jason Sudeikis while wearing a frumpy polka dot dress, but she stepped up her style game in a major way on Sunday.

The 27-year-old, who had several fashion highs and lows in 2011, wowed in a skin-tight black Monique Lhullier gown with sheer black lace inserts at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala.

She paired the head-turning dress with Cartier jewels (including a pave diamond panther head ring with a matching bracelet) and showed off her new shorter, blonder hairstyle.
