She certainly can afford it.

Elin Nordegren has purchased a $12 million mansion in North Palm Beach, Florida, TMZ reports.

Since her August 2010 divorce from Tiger Woods, Nordegren, 31, has divided time between Orlando and her native Sweden. Now the former model is spending some of her reported $100 million divorce settlement on a sprawling, beach front estate.

The two-story home boasts over 17,000 square-feet, eight bathrooms and a 4,700 square-foot basement.

Sticking to her promise to keep daughter Sam, 3, and son Charlie, 2, close to their dad, Nordegren's new digs are just 10 miles away from Woods' $50 million bachelor pad on Jupiter Island.

The family's nanny has been scouting out private daycare centers and schools, reports the Palm Beach Post. They are expected to move into the new home in a few weeks.

As for the scandal-plagued golfer, Woods recently talked about life as a single dad on ABC's Good Morning America. "I just love being with them," he told host Robin Roberts of his kids on Thursday. "It's just fun."

Waow so many bitter people and probably jealous .... Who cares ? This is not your money as far as I know. Personally I would have taken this pig to the cleaners big time. He cheated not just once but probably 1225588 times with porn stars and prostitutes. The way she handled this huge scandal was nothing short but classy . I hope and wish her and her kids much happiness and a wonderful life hopefully away from this nasty rat !

I'm getting kind of tired of reading all these comments about Ellin buying an extravagant house and how she should help poor people with her divorce settlement. You don't know her, maybe she has donated a substantial sum to charity already. Perhaps she donates to the less forunate on a regular basis. Who are you to judge what someone else does with their own money? If she wishes to buy a large estate so be it. Maybe you should look inside and see how you could better help society instead of passing judgement on others.

She is maintaining the lifestyle that both HER AND HER CHILDREN are accustomed to. Nobody has any right to try and tell her what to do with HER and HER CHILDREN'S MONEY. Elin is a beautiful woman and I admire her for having such dignity and class with what Tiger put her through. She is very private and certainly not media hungry. Good for her having all that money, I hope it helps her heal faster!

Wow, US you really do a great job of delivering the facts and solidifying your reputation as a "creditable" source. Btw, they didn't divorce till 2010, in fact, in Aug 2009 there was no word of any marriage problems. Oh, and Elin did get a little more than $100 from her divorce. Whoever wrote this should be fired and black-listed in the journalist industry. Shoot you could hire a child to do a better job writing an article.
