Sherri Shepherd’s Engagement Ring: All the Details!

Sherri Shepherd engaged in a little show and tell Monday on The View's first live show of 2011.
The co-host, 43, shared what happened over her holiday vacation as she flashed her brand-new diamond sparkler from L.A.-based TV writer Lamar Sally, who popped the question December 26.

The bling-breakdown? Jewelry and style expert Michael O'Connor tells UsMagazine.com that the star's ring is a princess-cut center diamond, approximately three carats, set in platinum with diamonds on the band. "The princess cut is one of the more popular cuts these days, since it gives you the same sparkle as a round diamond," O'Connor explains. Estimated price tag? $70,000!
Of course, for Shepherd, her new fiance is worth even more.
"This man not only loves me, but he adores my son," she said on-air. "And my son adores him."

The actress also opened up to viewers on the ABC talk show about how her man asked for her hand in marriage -- after first getting permission from her 5-year-old son Jeffrey.
"For Christmas, he had a present for Jeffrey -- it was a game," she said. "And he said to Jeffrey, 'Can I marry your mom?' And Jeffrey's like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, I want to play with my game!'" Shepherd recounted. "And he got on one knee, and he said, 'Mrs. Shepherd, would you be my wife?' And I said 'yeah!'"

Though she admitted Sally had one misstep as he struggled to stand back up post-proposal.
"It was hard,” she said. "My baby, he’s 6 feet 6 inches, 250-plus pounds. I mean, I got him from Detroit."

not all stars are showy when it comes to engagement and wedding sets. love it what matters not the size and price of the rings. complaining about the size of the ring is like saying a widow should take her wedding ring off her finger and leave it in her jewlery box. for example Sophia Loren's husband died 4 years ago and she still wears her wedding ring from him granted they were married nearly 41 years when he died so it's a totally different thing
