When you think of Grace Kelly, the term "rocker chic" probably doesn't come to mind. But the elegant princess mixed with a bit of bad girl was the muse for Anna Paquin's effortless updo at Monday night's Scream 4 premiere in Los Angeles.
My inspiration for Anna's hair was Grace Kelly rocker chic," celebrity hairstylist Giannandrea tells UsMagazine.com. "It was quite simple, but she felt very cool and beautiful."

Paquin, 28, sported the chic style with a belted black Cushnie et Ochs dress and silver Brian Atwood pumps.
Here, Giannandrea explains how to create the hybrid hairstyle at home.
1. Starting with damp hair, distribute mousse from roots to ends. Giannandrea used Kerastase Volumeactive Mousse ($37, kerastase-usa.com).
2. Blow-dry hair, using your fingers to style instead of a brush to "keep a natural feel and build volume at the roots."
3. Once dry, brush out your hair and apply Klorane Dry Shampoo Powder ($18, drugstore.com) for all-over texture.
4. Finger comb your hair back gently on top and at the sides. You're going for a messy look as opposed to structured.
5. Twist hair back into a loose bun, securing with pins. "A bit of messiness and a few flyaways are okay." Finish with hair spray.
