Exclusive: Whitney Port Dyes Her Hair Red!

Lauren Conrad isn't the only Hills alum to make a major hair change. Whitney Port showed off a new reddish color at SVEDKA's Night of a Billion Reality Stars party in L.A. on Thursday.

So what prompted the 25-year-old to dye her long blonde locks? "We changed just because we can! That's what hair color is all about," the star's hair pro, Kristin Ess told UsMagazine.com of the color she jokingly calls "apricot gingersnap."

To get the desired effect, Ess first applied an apricot base, followed by a matching gloss to add shine and help lock in the new color. Then, she topped it off with a few fine blonde highlights around Port’s face and at the ends so it looks natural.

"Whitney loves it. She's already feeling comfortable [as a redhead] and that's most important," says Ess.

I don't see anything special in her looks, they're ok. I think there is much prettier out there. I would never call her beautiful..far from it..the red is better, but she needs a new hairstyle..

She does nothing for me either way, and I am not ugly. Her hair is straggly, and needs a good cut. The blonde looks terrible. The red is an improvement.

@ Kayla and Sara, there are reasons why some people choose not to use a photo, and my taste is as good as yours. The woman is average in my opinion also.. Period. Maybe you guys need to cover your faces. You sound like teenies.

She needs a nose job at least to look half way decent. Her hair is a mess. I agree, her natural color would be best, and much shorter hair.

Yuk, to me she is not pretty to begin with, I bet her natural color simply highlighted be the best. She has a habit of letting her roots go.
