Jessica Simpson's Twitter Post Baffles Celeb Dog Trainer

Tuesday – September 15, 2009 – 4:48pm

After a coyote snatched Jessica Simpson's 5-year-old pooch, Daisy, she posted a note on Twitter offering a reward -- baffling celebrity dog trainer Jennifer McCarthy.

"If she witnesses a coyote taking the dog...obviously coyotes don't Twitter!" McCarthy -- who has trained Kelly Osbourne and Christina Aguilera's pups -- tells Usmagazine.com. "So that would be essentially not very effective in this case."

McCarthy delivers sobering news about Daisy, who was given to Simpson by ex Nick Lachey.

"Unfortunately, if she saw the coyote take Daisy, the chances of it surviving are very slim. She's probably not alive anymore," she says, adding that the maltipoo may have been eaten.

McCarthy calls Daisy's disappearance "an important lesson...in coexisting with wildlife.

"We're so detached from nature as human beings. We have to understand, this is the circle of life and how it works," she says.

When will Simpson be ready for another pooch?

"Well it depends on each person. Obviously, people to go through the grieving process and losing an animal is a different kind of loss than even a human being because pets are unconditional love," she says. "Once she feels that she's ready to take that next step, hopefully from now on she'll keep them on a leash or take other necessary precautions," including carrying pepper spray and an air horn "to scare coyotes away."

jessica simpson is a beautiful young woman, but you have to give yourself some more credit, also get to lone yourself first rather than having all these men dog you. you need to heal from your past realionship's before you can start another, because you will just keep reapeting the same as always jess,i really like you and care about you sorry for your lost!

The best thing for Jessica Simpson to do now, is mourn her beloved Daisy and then go get another dog. I hope from a shelter this time. There are plenty of animals that need a home. Daisy would want her "Mom" to be happy again.

Rather than constantly judging Jessica....can't we once feel some empathy? I think she's a wonderful human being and has had some rough times...and as the saying goes...when it rains ....it pours...Jess just dust yourself off....hold your head high and keep walking....Nick was a keeper....all the best...

I feel can feel her pain. Our dogs we love like no other. Unconditional for sure. I hope she can at least find her so she at least has an ending whether it is good or bad. Sad to say. I would be devistated. I lost a pet two years ago and do not know what happened to her to this day and I still wonder to this day.I hope you can put her to rest.

Either some of the posters here are not a pet owner or not capable of loving their own. Implying that Jessica is in no position to be upset over a coyote eating her dog because she's a meat eater or making jokes about a coyote trading a cheeseburger for the dog etc is beyond insentive. Losing a pet can hurt just as deeply as losing a human loved one. JCRocks: of course the dog is getting alot of press, his owner is a celeb. It's not "a new way", The media has focused heavly on celeb's problems for years.

mabey she could redeam herself by supporting a animal hospital or a cause in her late dogs name turn a bad into a good something like the Treasure coast animal hospital being built.

I'd feel more sympathetic if Simpson hadn't worn that "Real Girls Eat Meat" t-shirt. Jessica would eat a pig, which is smarter than a dog, so she can't really be upset with a starving coyote. It is sad and I do feel for her, though. Maybe she'll be inspired to become vegetarian! Coyotes may not necessarily have a choice, but humans do.

This DOG is getting more press coverage than CHILDREN who are abducted everyday! It shows you the new way of CELEBRITY is being SELF-ABSORBED! So SAD. :(

She speaks the truth. You whiny people need to wake up to reality just like Jessica needs to. Pets are rarely found or returned when taken from wild animals. This isn't a human dog kidnapper.

Circle of life?? Jennifer perhaps the next time a hungry coyote is looking for lunch he should come sniffing around your yard. Lets see how fast a twitter goes out for your search.

Jessica don't give up hope!!! Our dogs are stronger that we think. I cry everytime I read about this. I get upset at just the thought of something happening to my dog, she is getting older so I know it will happen. I just wanted to say I feel so sorry for you and I will keep hoping for Daisy! Everyone that loves animals would have reacted the same. Take care!

what the heck was this bimbo doing to "watch a coyote" take her beloved dog??!!!! I feel so bad for the poor little poochie.
  • September 16, 2009 - 2:52pm Anonymous Says:

I think McCarthy's comment about coyotes not Twittering makes her look like an idiot (really, they don't??) but I hate to agree that it's unlikely Daisy is still alive. I can't blame Jessica for trying though; ya never know.
  • September 16, 2009 - 2:03pm Anonymous Says:

The coyote traded Jessica his double cheeseburger for the dog. In the blink of an eye, Jessica handed over the dog. She's got to fill out her mom jeans with the "curves" only a cheeseburger can give her.

The more I think about this the more I am starting to believe that Jessica is not telling the truth about what happened with this dog. I mean I know if anything ever happened to my pets where something was attacking them and could do potential harm to them I know I would wage WORLD WAR on it. No matter what size it was. I don 't think I would step back and watch as something scooped up my pet only to hurt it some where else. And I certainly don't think I would go home and tweet about it.

Why did this woman even feel the need to comment on Jessica's Twittering? Gawd, STFU lady, we don't care what your thoughts are!

Jennifer McCarthy, ur a fucking idiot!! What normal SANE person would quote something like that??? u wldnt be training my dogs, that i can tell u BITCH!
  • September 16, 2009 - 10:54am Pet Owner Too! Says:

I agree about Jessica Simpson's stolen dog, Daisy. But what a shocker for any pet owner to go through. Jessica is still in shock, and just hoping the dog got away. But being more careful next time isn't really going to make a difference. Her dog is gone.
