Tom Brady Falls Out of Kayak, Teacher "Saves" Him

Friday – June 19, 2009 – 9:29am

Maybe Tom Brady should stick with football. The quarterback fell out of a kayak a few weeks ago in Brookline, Massachusetts' Charles River -- and had to be fished out by a local teacher, 7 News Boston reports.

Brady was with wife Gisele Bundchen and a pal when Brady fell in the water.

"We were tying up our boat to a buoy and the boat boy came over and said 'You are never going to guess who is on the Charles renting kayaks right now' and he said 'Do you want to go check it out.' I said 'yeah,' " Elementary school teacher Robin Leads said.

But when the pair got close to Brady and Bundchen, they realized the quarterback had fallen in the river. Leed helped Brady into her motor boat.

"I actually asked him why he fell in. He said he was racing one of his friends. It was Tom, Gisele and his friend...so he was racing his friend," Leeds said.

Afterwards, Leeds asked for a photo with Brady, who replied, "Of course! You saved my life."

Leeds adds that Brady was "really friendly, really appreciative that we fished him out of the Charles."

She also chatted up Bundchen -- but the pregnancy rumors didn't come up. "We talked about how beautiful the weather it was," Leeds says.
