Mr. and Mrs. Smith are heading back to the big screen! It was announced on Thursday, May 7, that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s movie By the Sea will hit theaters on Nov. 13, 2015.
By the Sea is a drama romance based in the mid-1970s in France, according to IMDb. Former dancer Vanessa (Jolie) and her husband Roland (Pitt) go through ups and downs while traveling the country together.
“This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance,” Jolie, who wrote and directed the film, said via The Hollywood Reporter. “It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew.”
Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley added: “Angie and Brad have created an intimate gem of a film that will surprise people and delivers an experience they might not expect from them. Universal is honored to market and distribute it to audiences around the world.”
By the Sea also stars Mélanie Laurent, Niels Arestrup, Melvil Poupaud, and Richard Bohringer.
Jolie, 39, and Pitt, 51, last appeared on-screen together in 2005’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith. (The hunky actor was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time; they split in 2004 after five years of marriage.) Brangelina then took their romance public on April 19, 2005, when they were photographed on Diani Beach, Kenya, with Jolie’s son Maddox, then 3.
