Bachelor Jake Pavelka will play a single guy on Drop Dead Diva, Lifetime has announced.

Pavelka, 32, will guest star as Toby Davlin, a suitor on a dating show-within-a-show called Finding the One. He begins taping scenes on June 18, and his episode, "Good Grief," airs Aug. 22.

In the show, he'll dump one bachelorette for another, leading the producer to be sued "for intentionally conflicting emotional harm." Says Pavelka, who is engaged to Vienna Girardi in real life, "I am honored to be a part of Drop Dead Diva this season, and cannot wait to meet the cast and crew."

It's not his first acting role. Pavelka -- who previously used the stage name Jake Landrum -- once starred on Walker, Texas Ranger as a young version of Chuck Norris' character, Cordell Walker.

I HOPE HE GOT PERMISSION FROM HIS BOYFRIEND FIRST

He is the male version of Kate Gosselin, a fame wh_re who desperately wants to be a Hollywood star.

Didn't the airlines give him a rose?

Did the airlines not give him a rose?

Have never watched Diva, but at least now I'll know not to give the show a try. This guy is puke-worthy.

Who says he can ACT? OMG, this is sooo CRAZY, I thought he was a pilot?

Good for Jake; I wish he wasn't playing a bachelor trying to get more women. If that role was created/written before Jake was a bachelor, fine. However, if this role was created with him in mind and after he appeared on the show - lack of creativity. He could have played a doctor that the diva so happens to meet while waiting for a friend to recuperate from surgery. Or some other scenario. Pilots don't make that much money. They often have to take second jobs just to make ends meet. It's unfortunate, sad, but true.

I think one of the reason's some of you don't like Jake is because he and his family aren't your everyday family. It is really a shame that it isn't. People aren't use to people that are loving and kind and caring and emotional. I was so impressed with his family. I thought it was great at how they accepted Vienna so lovingly. So many families anymore don't have that kind of closeness and they don't understand people that do. I truly believe that he and Vienna will get married!

The only "acting" he can do is crying!!He is such a sickening person with that fake smile. Wonder where his love of flying went??? He is so full of himself. He might as well just go on back to Dallas and get a job. Maybe a checker at Wal-Mart?

I love Drop Dead Diva!! I hope he is good and doesn't ruin it. I don't see him as the acting type though. I really hope he doesnt hurt the show.

I see it's not just me. I can't STAND this guy! Couldn't stand him on The Bachelor, couldn't stand in on DWTS. Thank goodness I don't follow that Diva show. Another reason not to watch. He is so plastic, insincere and calculating. And talentless. His whole 'tude on DWTS w/ his pro partner revealed how controlling and egocentric he really is. I was really hoping his 15 minutes were up. YUK!

I wish people would stop bashing Jake and Vienna. I think he is adorable. Wish I was young enough to go after him myself. We all know that the Bachelor shows are pretty much fake. Knowing that, don't watch the show if you don't like it. I wish both of them well, although I don't think a wedding will ever happen.

How did he get that part? Does it call for a cry baby man child or something?

  • June 14, 2010 - 11:44am He's too short anyway!

Someone has been told one too many times he looks like Tom Cruise...guess what Jake...he's an idiot too!

  • June 14, 2010 - 11:30am that guy

He starred on Walker Texas Ranger? What a poor use of the word star. How about "appeared."

  • June 14, 2010 - 11:22am Cindy

I wish him well; he seems like a nice person. The Bachelor is a fake show; it just gives everyone an opportunity to show the acting skills they do or don't have. Just wish he would break off the engagement even though it is fake.

oh, gee, how shocking. his LIES about how he "tried the acting thing" years ago and it didn't work out - and being a pilot is his 'true passion' is BULLSh$t!!!! I hate these disgusting fame wh ore liars. I will NEVER watch anything they are on EVER. Have the BALLS to admit that you went on the bacheor to try to get famous and to get acting jobs.

  • June 14, 2010 - 10:56am jlo

isn't this guy a pilot? Geez, Jake go back to your vocation, and leave the acting roles to the real stars, not the made up ones like you and all the reality "stars" that are clogging up the tv screens. I don't like it, never will, bring back tv dramas and comedy shows, with real tv stars they need to work too.

  • June 14, 2010 - 10:20am Elana

Half of these reality stars come on the show to advance their career in acting/singing/dancing/hosting...Which in my opinion is fine- as long as they realize that if they're not good to move on w/ their lives. I'm happy for Jake- because he seems to be getting the two things he came on the show for: Love & a New Career---Good Luck!
