The Bachelorette’s Jordan Rodgers Says Relationship With Brother Aaron Rodgers Is ‘Complicated,’ Defends Himself Against Rumors

Not a lot of brotherly bonding? Jordan Rodgers, one of JoJo Fletcher‘s suitors on The Bachelorette season 12, opened up in a recent interview on the podcast Garbage Time about his apparently frayed relationship with his famous older brother, NFL star Aaron Rodgers.

Host Katie Nolan asked the season 12 front-runner, 27, about things between himself and Aaron, 32, the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

“You know, we have a relationship,” Rodgers reluctantly said before adding with a grin, “It’s complicated. I’ll say that.”

Nolan asked if Jordan is a Packers fan, to which the former quarterback replied, “So one of my best friends in the world, Dave Bakhtiari, is [Aaron’s] left tackle. I lived with David before the draft, so absolutely.” Oddly, it is the fact that Jordan’s pal is on the team, and not that his brother is the face of the franchise, that makes Jordan a Cheesehead. Interesting.

When Nolan wondered if Aaron is watching his brother compete for Fletcher’s affections, Jordan didn’t appear to know, and he implied that they haven’t spoken about it.

“I’m sure everybody watches the show, so yeah. I think so, yeah,” Jordan said. But when asked explicitly whether Aaron has said anything about the show, Jordan replied cagily, “You know, I haven’t gotten any pointers on my kissing or my dating.”

The aspiring TV commentator also defended himself against some of his fellow contestants’ claims that he’s not on the dating show for the right reasons.

“I’m not sure why they would have said it because I feel like I was there with very genuine [intentions], and I feel like everybody knew that, but obviously not quite as well as I thought,” he acknowledged. “It’s not true, so I laugh it off a little bit.”

The Bachelorette airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
