Bret Michaels can't get enough American Idol.
After his surprise performance of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" on the May 26 finale, the rocker is hoping to snag Simon Cowell's seat at the judge's table.
"I feel there's one area I shine in, [and] it's giving musicians unbelievable advice. When you talk about being a judge, Simon did an amazing job. He cut to the chase with his brutal honesty," Michaels tells PopEater. "Mine would be less brutal and with more advice along with the judging...I would love to do it and I could give killer advice."
The 47-year-old reality star -- who almost died after suffering a "warning stroke" and a brain hemorrhage in April -- already has the support of his fans. Sixty-seven percent of UsMagazine.com readers voted in favor of Michaels joining Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres.
And despite doctors warning him not to perform on the Idol finale, Michaels insisted on hitting the stage.
"To be honest, there's still obviously a lot of pain that I'm experiencing," he told Us. "I’m running about 75 percent realistically, physically, but in my soul and my heart, I feel great."
