Britney Spears Will Star in Glee Episode

Gleeks and Britney fans, rejoice!
Glee creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that Britney Spears will appear on the upcoming episode of the FOX hit dedicated to her pop songs.

"Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode" for a "couple of scenes," Murphy revealed during a Tuesday radio appearance for On-Air with Ryan Seacrest.
Murphy teased that "the fun Britney stuff happens" when members of the show's glee club go under anesthesia at the dentist (played by John Stamos) and hallucinate about the Circus singer, 28. "They have fantasies of how they can be like her," he explained.

Don't expect the episode to poke fun at Britney's famous head-shaving incident or other lowpoints in her infamous breakdowns of 2007 and 2008.
"The Britney episode, I'm here to say, is so reverential about her," Murphy insisted. "It's about her music and it's not about her personal life."

"Britney Spears is pop culture, and I think she' s been through a lot," he said of the divorced mom of two. "I want to do something that just sort of says, you know what, 'thank you for what you have done. And we're encouraging you to continue to be doing as fantastic as you are.'... We're handling Britney with kid gloves."
"I really admire what she's done with her life and how she's turned herself around," added Murphy, who also directed Julia Roberts' new flick Eat, Pray, Love.

Madonna deserved an episode but the Beatles, Rolling Stones, MJ, U2, Prince, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Elton John, Billy Joel and Mariah Carey ALL deserved an episode before Britney
RE: I'm rooting for Britney, you have to be kidding. Madonna can sing circles around Britney. Youtube Hung Up acapella, Mother and Father acoustic or Sooner or Later at the Oscars...Madonna can SING and sing quite well when she's not dancing around. I like Brit but she's just a white trash pop tart that is the product of her producers with good marketing, Britney can't sing or write her own stuff at all. Madonna and Aretha Franklin are the greatest and most influential female artists in history.

Wether Britney can sing or not, the bottom line is that her music is fun and catchy and will make for a great episode of Glee.
Ryan Murphy is such a LIAR! LOL He always misleads us when we're hoping for something! Just like when we were hoping for Idina Menzel to be 'rachel's' mom! I'm SO READY for glee to come back! The anticipation is killing me! I must confess, I still believe... lol
I HATE glee with a passion BUT to see Britney...This is the only episode I'll watch. She was amazing on HIMYM as Abby!
I hope Britney gets it great shape for this opportunity. For those saying Britney can't sing or dance - this is Glee, she can lipsinc (sp) Madonna can't sing either, she still does concerts and she's 60 years old. Britney needs to work out like crazy so she looks fabulous for this.
