Taylor Swift who? Calvin Harris is concentrating on his music following his split from the pop star and her lightning-fast rebound with Tom Hiddleston. The Scottish DJ dropped the music video for his new song “This Is What You Came For,” which features Rihanna, on Thursday, June 16.
“Tonight! @rihanna,” Harris, 32, tweeted before the video’s debut. “THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR VIDEO @rihanna.” The Barbados native, 28, gave a shout-out to Harris and tweeted about the release too.
In the video, Rihanna dances in front of a white screen and is surrounded by laser beams in a rave-type setting. The song is their first collaboration since the 2011 smash hit “We Found Love.”
Harris’ new video comes just one day after photos of Swift, 26, kissing Hiddleston near her Rhode Island home surfaced. Harris reacted to the images, which were released by British newspaper The Sun, in Beverly Hills on Thursday.
“Any comment on Taylor and Tom, Calvin? Is everything going to be OK between you two?” a cameraman asked him. Harris replied: “All good. [She’s] just doing her thing.”
As previously reported, Harris and the “Wildest Dreams” singer ended their nearly 15-month romance just a few weeks ago. (Swift and Hiddleston, 35, hit it off at the Met Gala in NYC on May 2.) Harris was the one to pull the plug.
“She used to talk about their future a lot — marriage, babies. And although he wants all of that, it just felt a bit like she was all full-steam ahead, whereas he is more of a slow and steady, let things progress organically, kind of guy,” an insider previously told Us. “It’s a shame, because Taylor is a lovely girl. But it just obviously wasn’t meant to be.”
Swift was supportive of Harris until the very end. Back in April, she posted a photo of herself wearing a jacket that featured artwork from “This Is What You Came For.” That same weekend, she rocked out in the crowd while Harris and Rihanna performed the catchy tune at Coachella in Indio, California.
“I’ll NEVER forget this moment,” she captioned an Instagram photo at the time.
