Channing Tatum Says Magic Mike XXL Has “Five Times as Much” Dancing as the Original

Channing Tatum teased some details about the Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL, calling it the "Super Bowl version" of the original

Maybe the sequel should have been called Magic Mike XXXXXL. Channing Tatum sat down with the Today show's Tamron Hall on Monday, Oct. 13, and teased a little of what fans can expect from the upcoming sequel to his 2012 hit movie about male strippers.

"This is the Super Bowl version of what the first one was," the Book of Life star, 34, said of Magic Mike XXL. "I'm dancing probably five times as much in this one."

Asked whether he seeks choreography advice from wife Jenna Dewan Tatum — who has danced for Janet Jackson and 'N Sync, among others — the actor replied, "I do show her [my moves], but I don't love dancing in front of her, because she's such an amazing dancer."

In fact, the two first met on the set of the 2006 dance movie Step Up. They married three years later in 2009 and welcomed their first child, daughter Everly, in May 2013.

"Fatherhood…it teaches you a lot," Tatum told Hall of life with his baby girl. "Talking about mortality…I have never been afraid to fly on a plane in my whole life, and now, like, getting on a plane is a big deal. Things matter. As soon as Jenna got pregnant, everything sort of changed."
