Chelsea Handler Says She "Would Never Go to CBS" on the Ellen DeGeneres Show
Consider it Handler'd! Chelsea Handler who will end her eight-year run on E!'s Chelsea Lately later this year, squashed rumors that she was headed to CBS for a new talk show while chatting with Ellen DeGeneres Thursday, April 17.
The E! personality sparked rumors on Monday after she posted an image of herself, holding CBS documents, with her dog on her lap. "Business meeting," Handler wrote. "Chunk has been acting like this since I started my tour," she added of her dog.
When DeGeneres asked her about the pic, Handler explained: "I was in a meeting about something completely different and I don't check my photos at all. I'm not [headed to CBS]. I would never go to CBS. I'm not… my mouth… what would they do with me there?" (Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson's contract with CBS ends next June and it was speculated that Handler was a candidate for the slot.)
Known for her profanity-laced, outrageous comments and stable of A-list BFFs, Handler added, "I would never be on a regular network. I would never do that to my fans or to myself or to the network…. I enjoy the bad things. I'm a bad girl."
Handler's latest book, Uganda Be Kidding Me, has catapulted up the New York Times bestsellers list since its release last month. "I think it's time to move on," she told DeGeneres of ending her show. "I want a vacation and sleep, you know?"
