Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy said he warned Chris Colfer and and Lea Michele that their characters would be written off after Season 3, but it seems the actors didn't quite hear him.

"I didn't necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year," Colfer, 21, told Extra Thursday. "I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can't be there forever."

Though it may seem bittersweet, Colfer is excited to see what adventures lies ahead for his character, Kurt Hummel. "I would love to see him walking off to the sunset with an internship at Vogue," the actor said. "That's where he's headed. That's what I would like."

Colfer also hopes Murphy will ask him back for a few episodes. "I'm hoping I can be like Farrah Fawcett, a la Charlie's Angels, and come back in the fifth episode," he mused. "Or I can be like Batgirl in the Batman series, where there's a symbol in the opening credits and you know they're in it."

Meanwhile, Colfer's costar Michele is trying to keep her spirits up after Murphy made the news public Wednesday. "We always knew we'd graduate in real time. It's all part of the plan and it's all good," the actress, 24, tweeted Thursday. "It's going to make Season 3 amazing! This is just the beginning!"

I understand that charcters age and eventually graduate but I think by writing off the three main charcters is actually going to hurt the show. Chris and Lea are the stability of the show. I know Iam a Gleek and it's going to be a big disappointment after this season. But I hope that the show brings on some younger new actors and actresses. But Why can't they have Kurt, Finn and Racheal off going to college and having some kind of muscial spin off for the older charcters like the Sweet Adelines. I'm really going to miss these guys and I wish them all the best in their next adventures. But they need to bring them back for special appearences because if it wasn't for their charcters there would be know GLEE!!!

I for one am happy they need to introduce new talent these actors have had their time, now move on and get new talent. That Chris guy gives me the creeps, I stopped watching when he started kissing guys on TV. It's a boring show now.

Our three-generation household (14 to 65) liked the first season best. Now, without the personalities we enjoyed watching and followed through lesser seasons, we're agreed: No more Glee but it was fun while it lasted. http://bit.ly/mR9ySl

IMO the only thing interesting in that show was Sue and Will's fights. Then the plots started to get thin by the 2 season, leaning too much on these 2 singers. I got tired of listening to these two, the show became all about their high and strident pitches. Gossip girl is still the most interesting teenager show, everybody has something going on. Glee is all about Lea's dreams and singing.
