Time for a reality check?
Several stars of the Real Housewives of New York City will soon be axed, Us Weekly has learned.
On the chopping block: Cindy Barshop, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Alex McCord and Jill Zarin. ("They are sick of her being a diva," a source explains of Zarin, 47.)

The Huffington Post reports that Zarin, Bensimon, 43, McCord, 37 were notified by Bravo on Thursday morning that they would not be part of the full-time cast next season.
With that group gone, only LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan will remain in the core cast, with additional new castmates to be determined.

Singer, meanwhile, is negotiating a new contract, but another source says, "If they can't agree, she will be off the show as well."

According to a Housewives insider, Singer, 54, is even calling cast members from the franchise to fish for salary info.
No official announcement has come from Bravo, but when it does, pinot grigio will surely be required!

I hate LuAnn she is a awful singer and she acts so stuck up. I liked Jill, Kelly is WEIRD and I only liked to watch Alex because of her strange husband. If it's all about LuAnn I'm done.

Yeah!!!! It will be a lot better without the mean girl, Jill. I will miss Alex!!! I loved her new voice! lol But I'll be watching again this season with Ramona, Sonja and the Countess. I really wasn't going to waste my time with if Jill and Kelly was going to be on it. Thank you Bravo, a very smart move!!!!!!

Good choices. Jill was too bossy and mean, Kelly is crazy, and Cindy is just plain boring. Alex became all about confrontations, that got old.

I've wondered why almost twice the number of housewives are featured in New York vs the other cities? Now with one of my two favs soon to be history I am wondering if these changes have little to do with viewer opinion more to do with bringing salaries more in line with the other cities?
