Gabourey Sidibe thinks her mom's audition on America's Got Talent was, well, precious.

Earlier this month, Alice Tan Ridley, 58, stunned judge Piers Morgan with her rendition of Etta James' classic "At Last."

"I was very proud of her," Oscar nominee Sidibe, 27, gushed to at the Interscope Geffen A&M Records Post-Dinner in Beverly Hills Sunday night.

But the confident Ridley -- who has performed in NYC subway stations three times a week for the past 18 years -- didn't need any reassurance from her Oscar-nominated daughter before hitting the stage.

"What advice would I be able to give her?" Sidibe said laughing. "She's my mama!"

Still, the actress -- who next stars in Showtime's The Big C opposite Laura Linney -- says her mom's recent fame hasn't gone to her head.

"She's recorded albums and she's had a great career performing," Sidibe tells Us. "Now it's just different because it will be in front of more people."
